The Story of Urspindel
Ever wonder what the “before” picture tastes like? This is it.
After that long, fun day of tinkering with our friends at Beachwood Blendery, we landed on “the one”—that beautifully complex, pineapple-forward blend.
Before we added the mountain of golden pineapple, the El Dorado hops, and the terpenes to create Spindelshanks, we separated a small part of that base blend. We finished it simply, just as we do with many of our beers: naturally conditioned with a touch of honey.
That is Urspindel.
It’s the pure, unadulterated foundation. It’s a chance to taste the unadorned barrel expression and the beautiful, complex confluence of our two house cultures. We love it on its own, and we think it’s the perfect sibling to its “golden” counterpart.
Tasting Notes:
A delicate, unadorned expression of our two cellars. Bright, elegant acidity, complex oak character, and notes of stone fruit and tropical funk that hint at what would become Spindelshanks.
