OUR STORY
THE BEER
We’re a small brewery located in the South Bay of Los Angeles with a simple mission: to make delicious farmhouse beer with a point of view.
For us, that means every single beer is fermented in an oak barrel. It means we partner with incredible local farmers to source the best California fruit. It means we chase flavors that are complex and fascinating, drawing inspiration from food, cocktails, distilling and beyond.
But most of all, it means we make beers that we love to drink.
What We Believe
- Balance is Everything. We make beers that are complex enough to ponder, but so delicious you don’t have to. We focus on bright, elegant acidity, not overwhelming sourness.
- It’s All About Partnership. We are proud to work directly with some of California’s best family farms, and to tell their stories through our beer.
- Beer Is For Enjoying. While our process is patient and serious, the goal is always enjoyment. We want to create something you’re excited to open and share.
- A Brewery of Our Place. We are rooted in Southern California, and we aim to make beers that reflect the vibrant, diverse, and agricultural spirit of our home.
Ultimately, we want to make beers that you feel a connection to. We’re glad you’re here.
WHO WE ARE
My journey with Cellador Ales began not as a brewer, but as a cheesemonger. I first fell in love with the brand while hosting pairing events in its original San Fernando Valley taproom with my company, Vagabond Cheese. In 2019, I made the leap into the beer industry and officially joined the team as the brewery’s first employee.
Founded in 2015 by Kevin and Sara Osborne, Cellador quickly became a beloved name in the world of American farmhouse ales, celebrated for its commitment to barrel-fermentation and local agriculture.
By 2022, the brewery was ready for its next phase, and the founders decided it was time to step away. I was given the incredible opportunity to carry the torch forward, and I’m eternally grateful that our small, dedicated team chose to stay on for the next chapter. The first challenge was finding a new home, and in a true story of community, our friends Porter and Laurie at Smog City Brewing welcomed us into their dedicated sour facility here in the South Bay.
Today, the spirit of Cellador Ales is alive and well. We’ve reopened our doors with a focus on online sales, distribution, and our bottle shop, all while we hunt for the perfect location for our new taproom. The goal remains the same: to make beer that you feel a connection to. Thank you for being a part of this next chapter.
