SUMMARY:Measure Your Head: Drinking & Sipping
DESCRIPTION:From the hosts: \nHello hello\,\nI know some of you have played before\, or attended before but just to refresh the minds… Measure your head is the name of the event\, and a chat with some beers is how we play the game… that did not rhyme.\nDrinking and Sipping : with Cellador Ales\, Craftsman Brewing\, Highland Park Brewing and Yorkshire Square Brewing\nThe day goes like this\, four breweries\, 2 beers each; For the first round\, we will tackle some easy peas\, yet interesting in process or flavor profile\, and for the second\, something weird and wacky\, more complex and possibly challenging. With each beer\, the brewer will stand up and address the crowd and basically talk about the beer and whatevery else may come to mind… then the attendees will drink and discuss or not\, with their table mates and we will start handing out next beers.. the day will go mostly like that\, and the plan is to get equal parts education on beer/brewer/brewery and fun. 5oz-8oz pours in a 9oz Barbara’s branded glass that you will be able to take home if you don’t manage to break it. Their will be food specials\, most likely but not promised\, and I believe that’s all folks! \nTickets can be purchased here.

SUMMARY:CASK'S NOT DEAD @Yorkshire Square Brewery!
DESCRIPTION:The Los Angeles County Brewers Guild is proud to partner with brewery member Yorkshire Square Brewery (Torrance) to bring you a unique new event to champion the storied art of proper cask ale. Cask’s Not Dead is our call-to-arms for the cask-passionate and our enticement of the cask-curious to come and celebrate the glory of the cask. Yorkshire Square has invited breweries from all over SoCal to send their champion beers for a one-of-a-kind opportunity: judgement for their merits as proper cask beer\, the enjoyment of hundreds of cask fans\, and all cellared and served by the crack team of cask commandos from Yorkshire Square. \nThe 2018 Cask’s Not Dead Fest is an invitational beer event featuring unlimited tastings of over 25 cask-conditioned ales from Southern California breweries. A highlight of the event is the fierce beer competition with all participating brewers vying for the ultimate titles of Lord of the Old School and The Magician of Weird; the former being for practitioners of fine art of traditional cask ale and the latter being awarded to wild fantasies in cask experimentation. \n\nThe VIP session from early entry for a 12:30 to 2pm session\, gets first crack at the fresh beer\, the live announcement of the competition winners (1pm)\, plus wicked glassware. The General Session from 2-6pm get the most tunes and some pretty decent glassware to boot. Food trucks will be on hand for the entire festival. \nStay tuned for updates and the list of participants!

SUMMARY:Melon Saison Bottle Release @the Tasting Room!
DESCRIPTION:We’re open from 12-9:30p\, and will be releasing our Melon Saison! \nBottles will be available on a first come first serve basis. \n  \nBarrel Aged Saison Blend with Sugar Cube Melons\nMelon Saison is the next in our series of Simple Saison blends re-fermented with fruit varieties that have subtle flavors. This series started under the name Saison du Chuchotements (Saison of Whispers in French). So far we have done Unfruited\, Green Pears\, Melon (honeydew and cantaloupe)\, Cherimoya\, Asian Pears\, and now Sugar Cube Melons. This is one of the very few brands that we blend from a single base beer\, which we call Simple Saison. Brewed with Pilsner Malt\, Floor Malted Wheat\, and Spelt\, then fermented and aged in white wine barrels with our house mixed cultures. We usually blend from vintages ranging in age from 4-8 months. \n \nThe Sugar Cube Melons come from Weiser Family farms in Tehahapi\, Ca. We have a special relationship with this farm. We use their Tehahapi Grain Project Heirloom wheat for our Lambic Inspired beers\, and we also used their beautiful Nantes Carrots for The Carrot King. These were some of the best tasting melons we’ve ever had. Similar in appearance and flavor to cantaloupes\, but packed with so much more flavor. We ate ungodly amounts of the fruit when we were processing them. You can visit with Alex the farmer and buy his fruit at the Sunday Hollywood and Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Markets. Cheers! \n5.0%abv \nAvailable in 375ml ($9) & 750ml ($18) formats. \nTax + crv applied at checkout. \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Cask Days!
DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to be joining the line up for Cask Days in Toronto\, Canada! \nFrom the hosts themselves: \n \nCask Days was founded in Toronto\, Ontario by Bar Volo in 2005. The festival has evolved into one of the most exciting beer events in the country and one of the largest cask festivals in the world. It celebrates the love for cask ale: unpasteurized\, unfiltered and naturally carbonated beer that is served direct from a cask barrel. Our aim is to give you a unique festival experience that celebrates not only beer but food\, art and music. \nCask Days welcomes breweries and cider makers from across North America to showcase their finest offerings. The festival encourages experimentation\, collaboration and limited releases that are specially made for the event. \nCask Days gathers some of Toronto’s most admired chef’s and top restaurants to compliment real food with real ale. \nMore information and tickets can be found through the event link!

SUMMARY:Masumoto & Friends @ Cellador Ales
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, August 12th\, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM\, Cellador Ales and Woodshop Beer Co. will host a “Masumoto & Friends” food and beer celebration at the Cellador barrel room in North Hills. This event will feature a variety of delicious craft beers from us and others\, plus a special spread of food prepared by the incredible folks at Sqirl in Silver Lake/Virgil Village. All beers and the special menu from Sqirl will be made featuring fresh\, wonderful\, organic peaches and nectarines from Masumoto Family Farm. \nTickets are $79 pre-paid per ticket\, and include lunch from Sqirl plus servings of 6 different Masumoto beers specially selected for the day. \nThis will be an intimate event with terrific food\, drink\, and people—loose and informal and keeping in the spirit of discovery of previous Woodshop beer events (but with a much smaller crowd)\, this time with a focus on the fabulous summer fruit from Masumoto Family Farm. We are intentionally limiting capacity for this event to keep an intimate group\, encouraging conversation and “casual indulgence” to go along with the exploration of flavors in the beers and food. \nTickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. \nPLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING PHOTO ID. NOBODY UNDER 21 YEARS OF AGE WILL BE ADMITTED. NO EXCEPTIONS. \nCellador Ales is a small brewery owned and run by husband and wife Kevin and Sara Osborne. Cellador specializes in production of barrel-fermented wild ales\, which often showcase the bounty of fabulous produce from small farmers in California like Masumoto Family Farm. \nFood will be prepared and provided by Sqirl\, which is a small café specializing in breakfast/brunch fare and “New California” cuisine. We will have a ticketed meal and small bites throughout the event space\, allowing attendees to enjoy their meal at their own pace. Vegetarian options are available. Food will be available starting at 12pm and conclude at 2pm. \nThe beverage lineup for this event will include at least 6 different Masumoto stonefruit beers\, specifically selected with an aim to show the breadth of peach expressions that are possible with this fruit and beer. So there will be some experimental projects\, and small batches\, and works-in-progress… and things that have never been served before\, or ever again. Beers will be from Cellador Ales as well as other “Masumoto friends\,” and all are made using peaches and/or nectarines from Masumoto Family Farm. It’s more fun if we keep the exact beer lineup a secret until the event itself\, but the brewers who have used this fruit in recent years (some of whom will be featured at the event) are of the highest caliber\, and include The Lost Abbey\, Craftsman Brewing\, Homage Brewing\, Highland Park Brewery\, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales\, Modern Times\, Monkish Brewing\, De Garde Brewing\, The Rare Barrel\, Resident Brewing\, Belching Beaver Brewery\, Mikkeller SD\, Pure Project\, and Superstition Meadery\, among others. \nLast but not least… to be perfectly clear\, we are still awaiting confirmation from Mas and Marcy Masumoto as to whether or not they will be able to attend in-person. They would love to attend\, but will have to reserve a final decision based on the conclusion of their peach and nectarine harvest season for 2018\, which is expected to end right around August 10th or 11th. The event date was selected so that we can utilize some of this wonderful\, fresh fruit in the food prepared for our event\, but with that comes a risk that the Masumotos themselves may not be able to participate. Crossing fingers….

SUMMARY:Puckerfest 12 (Oregon)
DESCRIPTION:From the Event Producers: \n  \nJoin us for our 12th annual celebration of all beers (and ciders) sour and wild! \nIn addition to our long-time contributors such as Ale Apothecary\, Block 15\, Double Mountain\, Upright\, de Garde and so many others\, we are bringing in a lot of great breweries that we usually don’t see around these parts for the event this year\, including Stoup\, Hill Farmstead\, Wunderkammer Bier\, The Rare Barrel and more! \nInstead of having “themes” each day\, we are just going to put all the great beers on tap and rotate them through as quickly as you can enjoy them. So it will be key to keep an eye on the live draft list on our website to make sure you don’t miss anything! \nThat being said\, we do have a couple of special events happening during Puckerfest: Thursday July 19: We kick things off with some tasty krieks and other delights from Double Mountain\, and\, as is tradition\, they will be bringing fresh cherries for us to munch on. There will be a whole bunch of other great sours on tap as well! \nSunday July 22: Oregon ex-pat Vasili Gletsos will be in the house from 2-5 PM! (And\, yes\, there will be Hill Farmstead and Wunderkammer Bier on tap!) \nMonday July 23: Culmination brew crew members unveil their new side project\, Strange Loop Brewing. Culmination will also have something sour on tap for us!
