DESCRIPTION:Join us and our roomies Smog City Brewing for Monster Brew 2025! For the 14th year\, Porter\, owner and brewmaster at Smog City Brewing\, will be opening up the production floor for a brew day. Come out to see how a beer is made on their 15 barrel brew system\, where all of our beers are brewed too. \nThis isn’t just a demonstration\, though. For the home brewers in the audience\, you can take home 5 gallons of wort to ferment at home at no additional cost. You can purchase yeast from a home brew shop and make what you want with it…or…we will happily pitch our house cultures for you to ferment your very own mixed-culture farmhouse beer. The wort being brewed is a mildly hopped pilsner wort\, perfect for lagering or for mixed-culture fermentation\, but meant to be very versatile. \nThe day will begin at Smog City with the brew day and some special beers on tap. Dive deep with Porter and head brewer\, Matt\, on beer\, flavor\, brewing methods and whatever else you want to delve into. Knockout and fermenter filling will happen around noon\, after which we’ll be hosting a tour of the barrel cellar with barrel-tasting and pours of a variety of Cellador beers. For those who are planning on brewing a batch of beer at home and want to take a walk on the wild side\, we can pitch our house cultures (or saison cultures) for you before you take off. \nThis is a really special opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at the brewing processes both at Smog City and at Cellador\, to taste some really cool stuff and to rub elbows with like minded folks.
