SUMMARY:Measure Your Head: Drinking & Sipping
DESCRIPTION:From the hosts: \nHello hello\,\nI know some of you have played before\, or attended before but just to refresh the minds… Measure your head is the name of the event\, and a chat with some beers is how we play the game… that did not rhyme.\nDrinking and Sipping : with Cellador Ales\, Craftsman Brewing\, Highland Park Brewing and Yorkshire Square Brewing\nThe day goes like this\, four breweries\, 2 beers each; For the first round\, we will tackle some easy peas\, yet interesting in process or flavor profile\, and for the second\, something weird and wacky\, more complex and possibly challenging. With each beer\, the brewer will stand up and address the crowd and basically talk about the beer and whatevery else may come to mind… then the attendees will drink and discuss or not\, with their table mates and we will start handing out next beers.. the day will go mostly like that\, and the plan is to get equal parts education on beer/brewer/brewery and fun. 5oz-8oz pours in a 9oz Barbara’s branded glass that you will be able to take home if you don’t manage to break it. Their will be food specials\, most likely but not promised\, and I believe that’s all folks! \nTickets can be purchased here.

Upon entering\, you’ll receive a ticket that’s redeemable for a complimentary t-shirt from our merch stand. You’ll be free to purchase food and other merchandise. \nThe two General Admission ticket options get you access to the festival\, a limited-edition taster designed by Sam Taylor\, a brochure that includes a map of the festival\, and the allotted tasting tickets. \nThe VIP ticket includes one bottle of the limited-edition Horus x Hop Culture collab beer (Owl’s First Hoot\, 1/300)\, a limited-edition VIP glass designed by Sam Taylor\, a brochure that includes a map of the festival\, and a wrist-band good for unlimited pours. In most cases\, this will be the head brewer or founder. \nWhich beers will be served? \nThe beers at the fest are extremely fresh and limited release\, so it’s hard to predict brewing schedules well in advance. However\, we’ll release the beer lists in the week leading up to the fest as they become available. \nWill there be enough beer? \nSome breweries will kick their kegs before last call\, but we will do our best to avoid this. \nOther FAQs\nIs there a map? \nYes. Please include the name of your publication or account and your estimated reach. \nWhere are the proceeds of the festival going? \nProceeds will pay for the venue\, permits\, all beer sent\, lodging for visiting breweries\, and operational costs first\, and then the remainder will be donated to the charity\, Wildlife Waystation. \nThe Rules\nPlease DO NOT bring outside food or open any cans/bottles during the festival. For legal reasons\, they will be confiscated. \nIt’s a beer fest and we want everyone to have a good time\, but anyone that’s visibly intoxicated and acting inappropriately will be asked to leave. There is no rentry on festival grounds. Once you exit\, you must leave the premises. \nWe strongly encourage that attendees use services like Uber\, Lyft\, or local taxis\, but there are parking spaces all around the venue on the street and within the park. \nTickets are non-refundable and subject to applicable taxes and fees\, as well as changes. All sales are final! \nWe look forward to seeing you on January 26th! \n

SUMMARY:The 4th Annual Festival of Funk!
DESCRIPTION:From the host’s themselves… \n  \nYou are invited to experience The Funk at its highest level. The Festival of Funk is a celebration of sours\, saisons\, and all things funky\, carefully curated from some of the most fearlessly innovative brewers in the world. We’ve put together a jaw-droppingly rad group of breweries and secured a spot at San Diego’s gorgeous Liberty Station for a party of epic proportions.  \nAttendees will be baptized in the deep and diverse waters of funk\, from the delightfully tropical to the intensely sour and everything in between\, experiencing the truly amazing variety of flavors these exotic yeast strains and bacteria are capable of kicking out. The Festival of Funk will also be a prime opportunity to pick the brains of some of the most talented and adventurous brewers in the world\, so come prepared with your beer-nerdiest questions. \nWe’ll have plenty of food options on site as well as water stations\, an outrageously funky DJ mix from Peso\, and a few surprises. We’ll also have tons of ultra-sexy merchandise on hand for your purchasing pleasure. \nAll proceeds from Festival of Funk will be benefiting two incredibly San Diego organizations: BikeSD\, a non-profit working to make San Diego a better place to live\, work\, and ride; and the Climate Action Campaign\, an organization focused on stopping the climate crisis through policy action.
